Icy hike with Layla and friends.

January 11, 2015

Sunday began early with a pre-sunrise hiking launch near Potter Station.

The trail follows above the Seward Highway overlooking Turnagain Arm and takes travelers to McHugh Creek.  For the adventurous - and more conditioned hiker - it continues much farther beyond.

The first 1/3 of our hike - with about 10 dogs and their five people - was an uphill ice path.  Crampons and ski poles were oh-so helpful.

In all, we covered about four miles and enjoyed the views and dogs along the intlet.
