Two days in row with sunshine. Perfect for portraits in the studio and adventure along the Coastal Trail with Kevin and Robert. GREAT photos. Selecting finalists for their yearbook photos, prints and other products is not going to be easy. Just awesome.
Thanks Robert and Kevin.
Robert. Class of 2014
Sunshine and blue skies added a lot to Robert's senior portrait session. We created these teasers in the studio, the studio park and then added a few images from day two as part of a session with his friend and teammate, Kevin. Wow ... lots of great photos. This barely covers what we accomplished together - with help from Taylor and Carolyn.
Zuess, Robert's cute as a bug Yorkshire Terrier, added a lot to the photos, too!
Layla and Friends. Hiking Alaska. 2015 Calendar
Do you need a year-long dose of Layla?
I do ... day to day, month to month and year after year.
So, here's the first annual Layla and Friends. Hiking Alaska 2015 Calendar.
Prospect Heights, Ninilchick, Arctic Falley, Flat Top, Hidden Lake and more are featured in this 12-month calendar that includes Layla's adventures with more than 50 other Alaska dogs.
It's a really cool-looking piece - the first annual.
8.5" x 11" and spiral bound.
We'll release it publicly November 1, 2014 for sale at the studio and online.
The 'smart bump' on the top of Layla's head just swelled even more!
Anna. Class of 2015
Awesome, beautiful Anna chose our studio for her senior portraits.
A senior at Lumen Christi, she took a time out from Volleyball for a couple hours of photography with Taylor and I. A chill was in the air with snow on the ground. But some pretty fall colors held on to help complete portraits with us. Love, love the work we created with Anna.
The colors, Murphy ... everything was perfect.
Joe, Lulu, Sandy and Angel.
Anchorage's first official snowfall brought a beautiful setting for family portraits to start the week. To make that happen, Joe and Lulu treated us to a wonderful visit along with their labradors Sandy and Angel.
Perfect way to start the week!
The Rozema Family
Beagle Love! Barney, also known as Barney III, represents three Barney beagles I've photographed with the Rozema Family the past 20+ years. I first photographed his family in 1993. Next, it was 2003. And now today....what a treat!
Since then, Russ and Drew entered the pictures. And now, Russ is graduating from high school.
Time flies! But one thing remains constant: Barney!
The Rudisill Family
The Turnagain Arm was a perfect setting for photography Saturday morning. Though, it always is a perfect setting in my opinion.
The Rudisill Family posed for me at several locations along Seward Highway including Beluga Point (with Beluga's fishing all along the shoreline), McHugh Creek and Potter's Marsh.
Carolyn assisted throughout - adding her expertise and charm to our couple of hours behind the cameras.
The Kelley Family
When I photographed Jacob and Hannah's wedding, I never imagined how lucky I would be in the years to follow.
I've been very fortunate to be able to photograph this family from engagement portraits several years ago to today with their three beautiful kids.
I missed including Rook in this year's photos. But Zoe and their new puppy Scully were wonderful through every click.
Lovely photos today, everyone. Thanks to Carolyn for her help through most of today's session.
DJ
A mixed-up combination of clouds, sprinkles and sunshine combined for today's senior portraits of DJ.
We started in the studio - with some really fun portraits of Denali carrying someone's water bottle - and then I decided to abandon the studio for work along Turnagain Arm. What a great adventure.
Pretty awesome way to spend the day with Carolyn's help photographing DJ and Derek.

Oluwakemi. Dimond Class of 2015
Class of 2015. Talk about class! Wow.
Charming and sincerely inspirational. We were absolutely treated to a beautiful person today for Oluwakemi's senior portraits.
This was another wonderful experience for all of us at the studio. Thank you, Kemi. Your portraits are amazing.
Ginger, Tanya and Ed.
Relationships defined the day at the studio. Tanya, Ed and their loving, sensitive Ginger highlighted the early afternoon. The light was a perfect match to the connection between Ed, Ginger and Tanya. So sweet!!
Alison. Class of 2015
Alison - we loved working with you Monday afternoon! Yep, the puppies were pretty cool.
But you were the best part. Thank you! Love your artwork, style and personality.
Megan. Class of 2015
The first of two fun high school senior portrait sessions at the studio starred Megan! Carolyn and I tag-teamed throughout our couple of hours with Megan. It's fun and rewarding for all with two different sets of eyes behind the camera. And how could we go wrong with Megan's style and smiles!

Nala and Mina.
Taylor and I were so fortunate to work with Mina and Nala today.
Nala, a silver labrador retriever offered up so many poses we just could't stop. Fading light was the only thing that slowed our work today.
All of these portraits were captured along Anchorage's Seward Highway along the Turnagain Arm. From random stops to Falls Creek and McHugh Creek, we had a blast wading (and falling in chilling water.)
Thanks everyone - and great work, Taylor.
Diesel.
Beautiful light complemented a very photogenic family today.
These photographs were captured at the studio and near Ruth Arcand Park.
Light streaming through trees is one of my favorite parts of this season. It's even better when a handsome yellow labrador.
Thank you everyone - especially Carolyn for her dedication to create great light.
The Hughes Family
Here's a great series of previews from last week starring the Hughes family and their handsome sons and dogs. Sorry for the delayed post! Thank you, Thank you for coming to the studio again.
Layla - First Snow, 2014
Layla and I chased snow Sunday. She loved it. I loved it.
Time to break out the snowshoes, skis, poles and crampons!!!
Dexter, Jessie, Kia & Caesar
What a wonderful afternoon.
Taylor - as always - did an exceptional job assisting.
Our travels took us about one mile into Powerline Pass Trail.
We spotted three or four moose along the way.
It was chilly. :)
We shot photographs through light snowfall.
It was an excellent adventure with beautiful dogs.
Thank you everyone.
